Lacaton and Vassal

In an investigation of workshop 3, I came across interesting projects that had Lacaton and Vassal as architects. Lacaton & Vassal is a French architecture studio made up of Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal and founded in 1987 in Paris. In 2021 its founders won the Pritzker Architecture Prize. I was very struck by the type of architecture they developed, since they were based on sustainability when creating spaces for people. Its main projects were in housing in order to provide quality spaces with limited resources, generate less impact on the environment through energy saving techniques and that the most precarious people obtain a good quality of life. They designed a house with techniques similar to those of a greenhouse in order to save the energy of the sun to heat the place efficiently according to the type of climate of the place. They also generated the remodeling of a building with houses with the least possible amount of materials and generate a terrace that allows the expansion of the housing area.
